GOOP |
Stuff
you will need --> |
1 1/2 cups of warm
water
2 1/2 cups of corn starch
Green food coloring |

Put the water in
a bowl and add food coloring. Add the starch one cup at a time until
thick. It will look wet, watch it coagulate. The kids will be amazed
when they discover that all it takes is the touch of their hands to
bring it back to liquid form. I use this stuff in my classroom and
the children love it! One added bonus is that it lasts forever, even
if you forget to cover it. As far as I know it doesn't damage clothes
or carpet. But as with all things the children should be supervised.

Decorative Dye |
Stuff
you will need --> |
1 Container with a lid
1 Tablespoon rubbing alcohol
Food Coloring |
How

Color rice, macaroni, or pasta
with this easy dye recipe. In a small tightly lidded container, put
one tablespoon of rubbing alcohol and 6 drops of food coloring. Place
the objects to be dyed into the mixture and secure the lid. Shake
the container gently for about 1 minute. Spread the dyed objects on
a paper towel to dry. If you dye noodles with large openings your
children can string them and make necklaces or bracelets, ect... You
can also dye rice or sand and make beautiful art projects. Use your
imagination! Or better yet, let your child use theirs. |

Bathroom Finger Paint |
Stuff
you will need --> |
1/4 cup non-abrasive household
cleanser (such as Bon Ami)
1 Paper cup
Water and Food Coloring |
How

First pour your cleanser into
the paper cup. Add enough water to make a thick paste. Then add the
food coloring and mix thoroughly. This will make a 1/4 cup. Give the
paint to your child to play with in the bathtub. This paint is great
for making artistic creations on the shower wall and tub. The best
part is that the clean-up is simple! Just wash it down the drain and
it will take the bathtub ring with it! A word of caution....this does
contain a product that would be harmful if swallowed. Do not leave
children unattended while in use and use only with children of appropriate
age. |
