Allen County Airport recently added a new AWOS III (Automated Weather Observing System) system available which will broadcast temperature, wind speed, dew point including ceiling height. The information will be relayed via satellite and radio in real time. Allen County Airport will be one of the approx. 1083 current AWOS/ASOS stations in the United States. After the AWOS system is operational, you will likely start to see "Iola" listed on many weather maps as this system will likely be included in the national weather data network.
